Sweater Weather Knit & Stitch Social

Hello Everyone!

It’s that time of year again and the Sweater Weather Knit and Stitch Social is being held on Saturday 1st November at La Caverna Restaurant

We are having a knitwear fashion show for those who want to show off their sweater along with any accessories like cowls, hats, mittens, scarves etc.

AND we have a fashion illustrator and live event artist joining us as a special guest.

Louise Boughton who has extensive experience doing live illustrations at fashion shows and events in Ireland and abroad will be doing illustrations  during our “Knitwear on the Catwalk”.

Louise Boughton

We hope she will share her experiences from the recent London Fashion Week held a couple weeks ago.

It’s going to be an exciting  opportunity to showcase your handknits!

Tickets now available for purchase

Looking forward to seeing you on 1st November.

Autumn Knit & Stitch Social

We had a great start to the 2025/26 season of the monthly Knit and Stitch Social on September 4th at @la caverna. It was a fun and happy afternoon. The new set up of smaller tables was well received so we will continue with that.

As many of you know, the monthly Knit and Stitch Social is held on the first Saturday of each month.

We have booked for the rest of this year to give everyone certainty.

The next three Socials will be held on: Saturday 4th October, Saturday 1st November and the Knitmas party will be Saturday 6th December.

Tickets are available to purchase now for Saturday 4th October.

Meet the Makers Supper Club

Hi Everyone,

The Meet the Maker social event is a trial to see if there’s interest in a monthly evening dinner social that welcomes all makers whether it’s crochet, embroidery,  knitting, paper crafting, sewing etc. It’s a chance for those who prefer an evening for meeting up with like minded makers.

Greg and I are organising this trial supper club at La Caverna Restaurant to socialise over a lovely dinner of your choice from a select menu at a very good price. The supper club is not for profit. The amount you pay is simply to cover the cost of your meal plus gratuity and sum up fee.

Vegetarian and vegan options are available.

Tickets are available here

If you attend the monthly Saturday knitting socials, you will know what to expect. If you are new and have any questions,  please feel free to write to us at:

Hello Everyone,

Our enthusiastic Yarn Swap Committee, have organised our first yarn swapping social….

Full and hand-dyed, also 50g -100g balls of commercial yarns

Natural fibres or blended (no acrylic yarns)

2) The Leftovers.

All partial balls of yarn.

You can bring as many as you like, however, we do ask that you take home your yarn not claimed or you can choose to donate to ChangeClothes.

Let’s have fun switching up our yarn stashes while enjoying good food and the company of yarn loving knitters and crocheters.

Knitter on Tour

It was a pleasure to catch up with friends during a “stopover” in Cork City on our way to Kinsale.

My glowing smile says it all! I am so grateful for a friend like Evin. She has been my virtual and personal tour guide during my 24 hour visit.

We squeezed in a quick visit to see Carol Feller and real life shopping experience at the Stolen Stitches Studio since I’m use to shopping online from Dublin.

I brought home two skeins of Blasta Light to make a couple pairs of Coill, a new mitten pattern by Eimear Earley. Now this doesn’t count as stash because it was a planned purchase, right?

Diane & Carol

Onto Kinsale, where I discovered the LYS Vivi Trading Co., where Rowan yarns adorn the shelves of this Yarn Shop.

Kidsilk Haze is my weakness

I made some new knitting friends … friendly and knitting expert Claire

and new knitter, Aileen who was making an amazing wrap in moss stitch!

I had the pleasure of joining the local knitting group, check out my IG LIve from the shop!

The best for last photo of the trip is with fellow Dublin Knitter, Deirdre who I literally bumped into at our hotel before heading back to Dublin.
